The son of government minister Ian ‘Patches’ Liburd was gunned down on Monday night, August 27. He died around 10 pm at Pine Gardens at Shadwell Estate in a hail of bullets hurled upon him by his assailants.

At around 10 pm, shots rang out in the otherwise peaceful neighborhood of Pine Gardens, in Shadwell and when the smoke cleared the bullet riddled body of 31-year-old Mickail “Mitch” Liburd was discovered in some bushes near his home.

According to media outlet WINNFM, Mitch was in the Shadwell area playing dominos with friends when he received a phone call and left. “Reports are that when he drove up to the home he shared with his girlfriend, shots rang out and Liburd, who appeared to have been struck by one or more bullets, ran away from the property but collapsed in some nearby shrubbery. It was said the assailants followed and shot the young man at close range before fleeing the scene.”

It is understood the Mikhail himself was no saint and that there have been numerous allegations of his involvement in gun crimes. These allegations have not been confirmed to date.

After doing the usual reconnaissance at the scene after Monday night’s shooting, police posted on their website that they had recovered a gun at the place where Mikhail’s body was discovered. Later, after a certain learnt that such information had been posted, police were alerted and were apparently instructed to remove the information from their website.

The allegation is that the weapon found at the scene was a licensed weapon belonging to a certain Minister.
