Basseterre, St. Kitts, March 24, 2019 – Douglas Wattley, former chairman of Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris’ Peoples Labour Party (PLP), is to host a new radio programme.
Wattley announced on his FaceBook page over the weekend “The Rebuttal” airs from 8 pm to 10 pm starting Thursday the 4th of April.”
He said he has accepted the invitation from Kyss 102.5 FM
One year ago this month, Wattley announced that he “no longer support the Peoples Labour Party as presented to the people. I intend in the next election to support Dr. Terrance Drew, the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) candidate.” said Wattley.
“I believe that I should vote for who I believe, is the better of the two candidates. I (will) vote for the better of the two. I believe I (will) vote for the lesser of the two evils. I (will) vote for the more perfect of the two. That is my decision, because, it is clear as day who will be the better of the two,” said Wattley on Freedom 106.5 FM popular Issues programme.
Wattley said he is sure the question will be asked ‘how then can you support Dr. Douglas?’
“It is simple. Dr. Douglas is a better option for St. Kitts in my estimation than the option that we have now. Dr. Douglas is a better leader, a more honest broker than the one we have now.
Quite frankly, I don’t have any visible tangible proof of corruption with respect to Douglas, the way I have with respect to the present occupant,” Wattley told listeners to Freedom 106.5 FM.
“I have first-hand knowledge of things that will cause me to say that Dr. Douglas is the better of the two,” Wattley said.
Wattley also scoffed at a statement by PLP Chairman Craig Tucket that His Excellency Sam Condor, St Kitts and Nevis’ Permanent Representative to the United Nations (and former co-leader of the PLP) nd his wife, Eugene Condor are still in contact with the PLP and the PLP seeks out their advice.
“Why are you so lie and bad? ….Ask Clecton Phillip (former PLP Secretary) about Sam and Jean, You all looking support now that the Team Unity Government boat is sinking,” said Wattley, who has publicly accused the Team Unity Government of “installing a culture of corruption in St Kitts and Nevis.”
Condor, Wattley, Phillip along with several co-founders of the PLP were out from the party executive in a hastily called PLP convention in 2016.
